Questions
Everything you need to know about listing with Dry Tripping Travel.
Dry Tripping Travel is a curated booking platform for intentionally alcohol-free retreats and group trips. We make it easier for travelers to find experiences where alcohol isn't central, and for operators to reach an audience actively looking for exactly that. We're not a mass directory. We're a niche platform built on trust, transparency, and alignment.
Currently a website. A mobile app may follow as the platform grows.
Our travelers are actively seeking alcohol-free experiences, not 'alcohol optional' ones. That means fewer awkward questions, more aligned guests, and less need to explain or justify your offering. You're not competing for attention in a crowded marketplace. You're visible to people already looking for what you offer.
A few key differences: • Alcohol policy is clearly displayed on every listing, it's treated as a feature, not a footnote • Every listing meets our Dry Tripping Standard, so travelers trust what they're booking • Thoughtful non-alcoholic beverage programs are actively valued and highlighted • The platform is founder-run and relationship-driven, early partners have direct access to the founder and can help shape how the platform evolves
Yes, and quickly. Being listed early on a dedicated platform like Dry Tripping Travel positions you as a leader in this space, builds brand trust with a new audience, and creates long-term discoverability as the platform grows.
Dry Tripping Travel works well if: • Alcohol is not included in your experience • Alcohol isn't central to your itinerary or social dynamic • You value clarity, trust, and aligned guests • You're open to being part of a curated platform, not a free-for-all
It means alcohol-free is part of the design of the experience: • Alcohol is not included in the price • The itinerary is not centered around drinking • Alcohol-free options and boundaries are clearly communicated
If an experience no longer aligns with the Dry Tripping Standard (for example, alcohol becomes included or central), the listing may be paused or removed. Transparency protects both travelers and partners.
Standard hosts pay 15% commission on confirmed bookings. Founding hosts pay 10% for their first year. There are no listing fees, and commission is only charged when a booking is actually made, so there's no cost to being listed, even between retreats.
We understand the instinct, but no. Prices on Dry Tripping Travel need to match what a guest would pay booking directly with you, that's our price parity policy, which every host agrees to when listing with us. The reason it matters: if prices differed, guests would naturally be drawn to find you through us and then book directly to save money, which isn't the outcome any of us want. We put real work into bringing you guests, vetting fit, building audience trust, handling marketing, so we ask hosts to keep pricing consistent and report bookings honestly when they come through us. Think of commission as a marketing cost rather than something to pass on to the guest. In return, you get access to an engaged alcohol-free travel audience, a trusted review system, and a support team that has your back.
Commission is collected in two stages, in line with how guests pay: • Guests pay a 25% deposit at booking, commission is taken from this payment • The remaining 75% balance is due 60 days before the trip, commission is taken from this payment Commission is only collected when payments are actually received.
For a $2,000 booking at the standard commission rate of 15%: • Deposit (25%) = $500 → platform takes $75, host receives $425 • Remaining balance = $1,500 → platform takes $225, host receives $1,275 • Total host payout: $1,700
No. No listing fees, no setup fees, no monthly charges.
We're onboarding an exclusive founding cohort, a carefully curated set of early partners who will help shape the platform. It's a collaborative relationship, not just a listing arrangement.
Founding Hosts receive: • Reduced commission, 10% instead of the standard 15%, locked in for 12 months from your go-live date, so more of every booking stays with you • A Founding Host badge on your listings, signaling credibility to new travelers • Featured placement on category pages and priority consideration for homepage features, meaning more eyes on your retreats • Early visibility, listed from day one, accumulating clicks, visibility, and early reviews as the platform grows and SEO matures, well before things get more competitive • Founder access, input on listing format and filters, and priority consideration for pilot features like instant booking and reviews, so the platform evolves around what actually works for hosts like you
Founding Host spots are limited. Once they're filled, the standard 15% commission applies to new hosts.
This policy applies platform-wide, and is the same for every host on Dry Tripping Travel: • Within 48 hours of booking: full refund including deposit • After 48 hours: deposit is non-refundable • 61+ days before departure: remaining balance refunded in full • 31–60 days before departure: remaining balance refunded 50% • 30 days or less before departure: no refund on remaining balance
We're investing seriously in platform growth from day one: • Dedicated SEO strategy with regular blog content • CRM and email marketing to a targeted alcohol-free travel audience • Active social media presence across key platforms • Paid advertising across key channels • Sponsorships and partnerships across the alcohol-free and wellness space This is a properly marketed platform, not a basic listing page.
It depends on where else your retreat is being sold. If Dry Tripping Travel is the only place you list this retreat, INSTANT BOOKING is available: travelers book and pay immediately, no confirmation step needed. If you're also selling spots elsewhere (which applies to most hosts), you'll use REQUEST TO BOOK instead: travelers send a booking request, you confirm availability within 24 hrs, then the booking automatically proceeds. This avoids the risk of double-booking a spot that's already been sold through another channel. You choose the booking type when you set up your listing in your host dashboard.
You're paid automatically through Stripe, we never hold or manually release your funds. You're paid at each payment event: your deposit share when the traveler books, and your balance share when the remaining payment is charged. From there, funds move to your bank on Stripe's standard payout schedule, same as any business using Stripe. Dry Tripping Travel has no ability to delay or withhold your payouts.
